Viewing Parties
Fashion Revolution Week 2021 Viewing Party 1: Made In Bangladesh
Date: 21st April 2021, Tuesday
Time: 9pm to 10pm
A lot of our clothes bear the label ‘Made in Bangladesh’. But before the deadly collapse of Rana Plaza, a garment factory there in April in 2013, most of us never thought about the people who make them. After clothes bound for popular, mainstream brands were found in the rubble of Rana Plaza, these companies reacted with surprise – how could such a tragedy happen?
This documentary tracks down workers who say they are still forced to make clothes in dangerous conditions and goes behind bars for an exclusive interview with the jailed owner of one of the biggest factories inside Rana Plaza, who details his long-standing, multi-million dollar connections to some of the world’s best known brands.
Made in Bangladesh won the 2014 International Emmy® Award for Current Affairs programming.
This session will follow with an open community conversation moderated with Fashion Revolution.

Fashion Revolution Viewing Party 2: The Clothes We Wear
Date: 23rd April 2021, Friday
Time: 9pm to 10pm
We live in an age of hyper-consumption, and nowhere is this more obvious than the fashion industry. New collections are arriving on the market at an ever increasing rate – many of them at rock-bottom prices.
And if you believe the information campaigns run by some of the textile giants, consumers can now buy with a clear conscience. It’s become trendy for clothing labels to tout their green credentials, advertising eco-friendly labels allegedly made according to strict environmental standards.
But is it all genuine? Two reporters go undercover to find out what’s really happening in the textile factories where many clothes destined for the European market are made. They discover the extent of the environmental devastation caused by the industry and how companies are making a profit from the fact that sustainability sells.
This session will follow with an open community conversation moderated with Fashion Revolution.
