What kinds of different valuzes can you find in your cultural heritage? Maybe we can complement the perspetive on the domain of value (science, art, …) with a perspetive focusing on the impact the current state of a site on value related impacts, e.g. realized values, destoyed values, potential but unrealized values. Change of value? Theanswer to the question of value is negotiated between experts / institutons and local communities. Behavioural and normative beliefs change over time. Hence, I think it is likely that the result of bargaining process is likely to generate different results over time as well.

How to deal with rthe relationship between tangible and intangible heritage? Don’t really know. Maybe by starting with the community, focusing on impact of values created / destroyed / left untapped by the current situation, identify a strategy that focuses on maximizing positive value for the community and dervive the implications for managing both tangible and intangible heritage. How to embody sustainable development in the protection of sites? By reflecting on the meaning of the SDGs from the viewpoint of the community. Contextualize the goals and deveop site specific objectives that kind of form the normative framework for the development of the strategies.

The presented case is convincingly addressing the different dimensions. Many thanks for the presentation. The diversity of competencies the project bundles may showcase the diversity of funds that could potentially be channelled to heritage projects. For instance, funds for SME-development applied to heritage entrepreneurship, healthcare funds applied to heritage communities, waste-management funds applied to heritage sides, etc. The case shows that it could be interesting to look into international funding opportunities beyond the typical heritage context.
